TUCÁN COUNTRY CLUB & RESORT
FORMS AN ALLIANCE WITH ECOPARQUE
Tucán Country Club & Resort is the most modern 180-acre private gated golf community located just 15 minutes from Panama City, featuring an 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course and the most beautiful and luxurious villas, town homes and condominiums ever, sharing the beauty of a living rain forest on the one hand, and the eighth wonder of the world, the Panama Canal, on the other.
As Tucán Country Club & Resort is very conscious about preserving the surrounding habitat, they have made an agreement with EcoParque Panama, a 930-acre tropical forest preserve adjacent to Tucán Country Club, in which the preserve’s caretakers will advise them on how to carry out the proper conservation measures to assure building a community compatible with the natural habitat.
In exchange, Tucán Country Club & Resort will help EcoParque raise additional funds for its educational and outreach programs, and also assist in having this major ecological park carry out its message to both Panama and its visiting tourists.
Nestor J. Correa, EcoParque’s Executive Director, also mentioned that with the help of people like the Tucán Country Club & Resort’s developers, they hope to make EcoParque Panama a major attraction for visiting tourists, especially children.
THE BENEFITS OF LIVING
IN A GATED COMMUNITY
Making your life easier and worry-free
By Dinesh P. Vaswani
Although a relatively new concept in Panama, gated communities have been in existence in the U.S. for decades now, and have been growing in popularity in recent years. By some estimates, more than 7 million households in the U.S. are in gated developments.
The biggest reason is most likely for protecting the value of one’s home – the largest single investment for most people. Most gated communities have Restrictive Covenants that dictate what a homeowner can or cannot do with his or her property, so it is important when considering buying into a gated community to first review the CC&R’s and decide if you are comfortable with them or not.
Restrictions can include anything from the style, size and height of the homes to the exterior colors, the type of fencing and materials used, policies on pets, a home business, and limitations on using your lot, among other things.
Advantages include services provided, such as mowing the lawn, utilities such as water and gas, trash collection, controlled access, security, landscaping and maintenance, are among others found in gated communities that would cost much more if obtained individually.
Gated communities may not be for everybody, but for those looking for a home for their retirement years, and want to be free from home ownership concerns, gated communities may just be the best way to go.

Golf Course
Tucán Country Club & Resort features its fabulous 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course designed by noted architect Jeffrey Myers, and preserves the beauty of the surrounding forests, hills, lakes, and other flora in keeping with the developer’s objective of sustaining the rich biodiversity with its multitude of plant and animal species. The first nine holes will be finished by November, and the course is scheduled for completion by early next year.
Homes
Construction of the homes is well in progress, and there will be 10 Terrace Condominium buildings completed within the first half of 2007, while 2 “Eagle” Villas and 2 “Champion” Villas are currently under construction and are scheduled to be ready for the 3rd Quarter of 2007. Delivery of the first Condo units will commence in January 2007.
Tucán Country Club & Resort’s newest addition is “The Eagle’s Nest” Condominium that will be larger and more luxurious featuring 2 and 3 bedroom apartments with areas from 1,600 ft² to 3,000 ft². It will also have 2 elevators, its own swimming pool, gym, Jacuzzi, sundeck, BBQ, and concierge.

Your neighbors at
Tucán Country Club & Resort
As Tucán Country Club & Resort is adjacent to EcoParque Panama, a major ecological park, it is surrounded by the natural beauty of thousands of plant and animal species, and the developer’s goal is to build a residential and golf community preserving the natural habitat for all to enjoy and be a model of sustainable development.
THE TOUCAN The toucans are beautiful and brightly marked birds with large colorful bills that inhabit the tropics. They range in size from 7 to 25 inches with short, thick bodies and rounded tails that vary in length from half to the whole length of the body. While having a short and thick neck, at the base of the head is a large and brightly colored beak that, in some large species, is more than half the length of the body. Toucans are fruit-eaters, but will take insects and other small prey such as small lizards. They are arboreal, nest in tree-holes and are resident breeders that do not migrate.
THE SPIDER MONKEY
A curious looking neighbor is the spider monkey, generally known by that name because of its spindly limbs. This monkey has hook-like, narrow hands without thumbs, elongated and curved fingers, and small heads with hairless faces. Spider monkeys are daytime creatures, and spend the night sleeping in trees.
